SMP For Men

Men experiencing hair loss can regain their confidence with scalp micropigmentation. Our tailored treatments ensure a personalized solution to meet your specific needs. We can add density to existing areas of the scalp, recreate hairlines seamlessly, and give you the appearance of hair in areas where you had none.

SMP For Women

Imagine coming in for a treatment and leaving with a full head of hair on the same day. Scalp micropigmentation for women is that amazing.

The women’s treatment is also a great complement for a hair unit or wig. Women who have been using hair fiber powders such as Toppik, SureThik, Febron, and other brands have stopped depending on these products after undergoing our scalp micropigmentation treatments. Our clients adore their new look and feel a sense of freedom after realizing they don’t have to depend on wigs or messy hair fiber powders anymore.

We can also take care of areas on the hairline affected by traction alopecia. See below.

Traction Alopecia

Hair loss caused by the repeated pulling of one’s hair into certain hairstyles such as tight braids, cornrows, extensions (weave), tight ponytails or tight buns is known as traction alopecia. The hair follicles can be yanked out or even damaged from the repeated pulling. Many trichologists have recognized scalp micropigmentation as one of the only viable solutions to traction alopecia, since it provides a natural and lasting remedy for your edges. And you’ll get same-day results.

Non-Surgical SMP Treatment

Our non-surgical scalp micropigmentation treatments are minimally invasive and provide same-day results. You can even return to work right after each treatment.

What to Expect During your SMP Treatment

On the day of the treatment, you will meet with one of our artists who will create your individualized treatment plan. Your artist will use a handheld permanent makeup machine to create impressions on your scalp that mimic hair follicles. At the first treatment we will create the base layer of pigmentation. You will then return a week later for assessment and a darker shade with increased density of impressions. Treatments can last between one to three hours depending on the size of the treatment area.

All of our equipment is sanitized using hospital-grade cleaners and the micro-needles are used once per client then disposed of. We never reuse needles.

We provide numbing creams by request, although most of our clients find that the pain was minimal and they did not need it.

Scalp Micropigmentation Aftercare and Recovery Guide

Ensure a smooth recovery and long-lasting results with our easy aftercare guidelines. Proper care is essential for the best outcome. The guidelines are very easy to follow and ensure the best outcome for your new look.

The aftercare lasts four days. No rest or time-off of work is needed.

How Long Does Scalp Micropigmentation Last?

To maintain the desired look over the years, most clients need a minor touch-up around the four-year mark.

Touch-ups consist of either darkening the full initial treatment or just treating certain areas that may have faded.

To ensure your treatment lasts, it is important to protect the pigment from the sun. This is easily done by using sunscreen or wearing a hat or head scarf on sunny days. It is very important to follow the four-day aftercare guidelines since this is the period your treatment is most vulnerable to fading.

Scalp Micropigmentation FAQs

What is scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micropigmentation is a non-surgical and non-invasive hair restoration technique that mimics the appearance of a closely shaved head of hair. It can mimic short hair on a shaved head or add density to longer hair. It can recreate your hairline or cover a scar on your scalp.

Are there any risks associated with SMP?

SMP is generally safe, but individual reactions may vary. We’ll discuss potential risks during your consultation. Also known as hair tattoos, we simply make ink impressions on your scalp to mimic hair follicles.

Who’s not a good candidate for scalp micropigmentation?

Although scalp micropigmentation can help various degrees of hair loss, the treatment also has its limits. We’ll assess your suitability during your consultation, considering factors like skin type, skin issues such as alopecia, and medical history.

Does scalp micropigmentation hurt?

Most clients report minimal discomfort during the procedure, often likening it to a light scratching sensation. Some clients love it and say it “feels therapeutic.” After the treatment, you may feel a dull burning sensation that will go away within 24 hours.

What questions should I ask my healthcare provider before getting SMP?

We recommend discussing your scalp micropigmentation plans with your healthcare provider, especially if you have underlying medical conditions. Your dermatologist can help diagnose conditions such as the various types of alopecias.

A few good questions to ask your dermatologist::

  • Is it ok to get a scalp micropigmentation treatment considering my condition?
  • Will scalp micropigmentation interfere with the prescription medication I am taking?
  • Is there anything I should tell my scalp micropigmentation artist before undergoing treatment?

Is scalp micropigmentation worth it?

Many clients find scalp micropigmentation to be a highly worthwhile investment in their self-confidence and appearance. We’ve treated thousands of women and men suffering from hair loss, and they have overwhelmingly reported a positive life change after the treatment,

Should a tattoo parlor or artist offer scalp micropigmentation?

Scalp micropigmentation requires specialized training, pigment, and equipment. Ensure your artist is experienced in scalp micropigmentation and has received a master certification from a reputable trainer.

Does scalp micropigmentation grow hair back?

Scalp micropigmentation may stimulate hair growth as dry-needling does, but this is not its intended purpose. The treatment creates the illusion of a full head of hair, even for those with extensive hair loss.
