Aftercare on Your First Four Days After SMP
Follow these aftercare guidelines to protect your results and reduce the risk of complications:
1. Keep The Treated Area Dry
Do not wet your head, scalp, or any treated area for the first four days after treatment.
The reason you don’t want to wet the treated area is to avoid infection.
2. Do Not Touch the Treated Area
Do not touch the treated area during the four-day aftercare period.
The reason for this is, again, very important: you want to avoid infection.
3. Avoid Direct Sunlight for 4 Days
Avoid direct sunlight during the first four days after your treatment. If you go outside and it’s really sunny, you may want to put a hat on.
However, you can’t apply any sunblock during those first four days.
4. Avoid Excessive Sweating
You want to avoid sweating too much during the first four days.
- Don’t go to the sauna.
- Don’t run a marathon.
- Don’t run a half marathon.
Just kind of take it easy for those four days.
The Healing Process After Scalp Micropigmentation
Initially, the redness and inflammation will go away within two days, or approximately 48 hours.
After that, the healing process takes about a couple of weeks to a month for you to be fully healed.
Once you’re healed, you’re good from there.
