Could SMP Be the Right Solution for Your Hair Loss?

Whether you’re frustrated with a receding hairline, thinning at the crown, or visible scars, we use scalp micropigmentation to restore the look you want.

SMP For Men

SMP for men can create the look of a clean buzz cut or add density to thinning areas caused by male pattern baldness. We’ll create a natural-looking, age-appropriate hairline that fits your face, so your results look sharp, never artificial.

SMP For Women

SMP for women can create the appearance of fuller, thicker hair by reducing scalp contrast and filling in thinning areas around the part line, temples, or crown. We work section by section to blend pigment with your existing hair for a soft, seamless look.

SMP For Alopecia

SMP for alopecia can soften the look of alopecia areata, totalis, universalis, or hair loss related to hormonal changes or stress. By carefully matching pigment to your skin tone, we create results that look real and consistent.

SMP For Scar Camouflage

If you have scars from a hair transplant, injury, or trauma, SMP can blend scar tissue with the surrounding scalp to make them less visible. You can confidently wear your hair shorter without drawing attention to past procedures.

Personalized Results with Straightforward Pricing

While the cost of your SMP depends on the treatment area and the extent of tattooing you need, we’ll provide exact pricing during your consultation, so there are no surprises.

We require a $400 non-refundable deposit to book your treatments, and we typically split the remaining balance between your first two sessions.

To make SMP more accessible, we offer financing with Cherry, so you can pay for your treatment over time starting at just $80 per month for eligible clients. The application is quick, approval takes minutes, and you can choose the payment plan that fits your budget.

Our Approach to Realistic Hairline Design

  1. Consultation & Hairline Planning: We start with a one-on-one consultation where we assess your hair loss pattern, discuss your goals, and design a hairline that fits your face and age.

  2. Custom Pigment Matching: We choose a plant-based pigment that matches your natural hair color and skin tone to make sure your results look believable in any lighting.

  3. Layered Application Sessions: We complete most treatments over 2–3 sessions, depending on the size of the area and the density you want to achieve. Each session typically lasts between 2 to 4 hours, allowing us to gradually build depth.

  4. Refinement & Adjustments: With each visit, we create density and fine-tune your hairline to make sure it looks realistic and age-appropriate. This step-by-step approach prevents harsh edges and creates a soft, natural finish.

  5. Aftercare & Maintenance: After your sessions, we provide clear aftercare instructions to help you protect your results while your scalp heals. Your results will last 3-5 years before fading, and occasional touch-ups keep your hairline looking sharp.

Post-Treatment Scalp Care Guidelines

After SMP, we’ll provide clear aftercare instructions to protect the pigment and keep your results looking sharp as they settle.

During the first few days after your session:

  • Keep your scalp completely dry for the first 4 days.
  • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area.
  • Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning.
  • Skip intense workouts, saunas, and anything that causes heavy sweating.
  • Do not apply sunscreen, lotions, or hair products.

As your scalp continues healing (days 5–30):

  • Gently cleanse with lukewarm water and mild soap after day 4; no scrubbing.
  • Allow your scalp to air dry instead of using heat.
  • Avoid picking at any light flaking as your skin renews.
  • Begin using a fragrance-free moisturizer once cleared by your artist.
  • Use SPF 30+ regularly to protect your pigment from UV fading.

Potential side effects:

Mild reactions are normal and temporary as your scalp heals. You may experience:

  • Slight redness or tenderness in the treated area
  • Minor swelling
  • Light flaking or dryness
  • Temporary darkening of pigment before it softens

If you notice increasing redness, extreme swelling, discharge, or fever, see a medical provider right away.

What to Expect as Results Settle In

Your scalp micropigmentation results will evolve slightly as your skin heals and the pigment softens. Here’s what you can expect in the weeks following your session:

  • Immediately After Treatment: Your hairline may look darker and more defined than expected. Mild redness is common and usually fades within 24–72 hours.

  • Days 1–4: The scalp begins its early healing phase. Keep the area dry and protected while the pigment stabilizes beneath the surface.

  • Days 5–7: You can resume gentle cleansing. The pigment may still look slightly bold at this stage.

  • Weeks 2–3: Light flaking may occur as your skin renews. The color will soften and settle into a more natural tone.

  • Weeks 4–6: Your final look becomes more visible as the pigment fully integrates with your skin. We may recommend a follow-up session to make subtle refinements.

  • Long Term (3–5 Years): Your results will gradually fade over time, especially with sun exposure. Occasional touch-ups keep your hairline looking sharp and natural.

Helpful Answers Before You Get Started

Are there any potential risks or complications with SMP?

When performed by a trained specialist, SMP is considered very low risk. You may experience temporary redness, mild swelling, or slight sensitivity, but serious issues are rare.

Does the scalp micropigmentation procedure hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain. We apply a numbing agent beforehand, and sensitivity varies depending on the area being treated.

What factors should I consider before undergoing SMP?

Consider:

  • Your hair loss pattern
  • Your desired hairline style
  • Your skin type
  • How do you prefer to wear your hair

During your consultation, we’ll assess your scalp and help you decide if SMP aligns with your goals.

Is scalp micropigmentation a worthwhile investment?

If you want a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution without surgery or daily products, SMP is definitely worth it. Results can last for years, and touch-ups are typically quicker and more affordable than the initial treatment.

Can a tattoo parlor perform scalp micropigmentation treatment?

SMP requires specialized training, scalp-specific pigments, and skills that go beyond traditional tattooing. It’s important to work with a dedicated SMP clinic for the most natural, believable results.
